Message Too many questions to answer all individually. I have a new Sony head unit and Sony Xplode amp and Sony 6.5" ES speakers. I took the Bose enclosures out and replaced with the factory inserts. The baffles I used are foam and seal the rim of the speaker against the edge of the insert. They enclose the entire back side of the speaker(magnet etc)like it is sitting in a cup. So I don't think the seal is the issue. I just woried that the air space on the back side of the speaker (inside the baffle) may not be mathced to the speaker. In order to get any base, I have to boost the low EQ frequencies way up and they still sound muddled. I guess I am just a little disappointed that I don't get better sound than the factory stuff (say what you will about Sony they are still better than the Bose set up. I have not tried running without the baffles enclosed around the speaker (but still used to seal the edge) to see if they perform better with the whole door volume. Thanks for the help and I am glad everybody is bored at work like me.
